About me
Hello, I’m Ruth, a translator, transcreator, copywriter and painting enthusiast based in Madrid, and working for organisations worldwide.
For 20 years, I’ve been helping ethical brands and social impact organisations use their voice in Spanish, always keeping what makes them special.
From slow fashion labels to human rights NGOs, I work with projects that make the world a bit better and your heart beat faster.
When I’m not crafting copy or transcreating campaigns, you’ll find me working with local cooperatives, attending slow fashion events, or exploring nature with Naia and Tao, my furry companions.
My Approach: Heart & Precision
Great impact content needs both heart and precision, two things that might sound like opposites but are essentially inseparable.
Heart means understanding what you stand for. Before I write or translate a single word, I immerse myself in your brand, your mission, and your voice. I ask questions. I research your audience. I get to know the cultural nuances that matter.
Precision means delivering work that’s accurate, precise and, very importantly, strategic. Every word choice, turn of phrase and cultural adaptation serves your goals. Whether it’s a campaign that needs to resonate emotionally or a report that requires clarity and rigour, I bring both creativity and attention to detail.
Beyond Spanish
I work with a trusted network of translators for other language pairs, so if your project needs more than Spanish, I can help you scale and thrive.
Values that guide my work
Collaboration
I see every project as a partnership. Your expertise + my language & strategy skills = content that truly works.
Cultural respect
I translate your message, adapting its meaning for Spanish-speaking audiences with cultural sensitivity and awareness.
Transparency
Clear timelines, honest communication, and no surprises.
Inclusivity
I believe in language justice, as well as inclusive and clear language, and I bring a feminist and decolonial lens to my work. This can also be adapted to your brand or organisation’s identity.
Community
I’m a proud member of Mercado Social de Madrid, a social and solidarity economy cooperative. For me, language work is also about building accessibility, sharing knowledge, and supporting ethical economies.
My Process
1. First coffee
We talk about your project, your goals, and your audience. I ask the questions that help me understand what you need translated and why it matters.
2. Immersion
I dive into your brand voice, your materials, and the cultural context of your audience. This is where I become fluent in your story.
3. Creation
I craft your content, whether that’s transcreating a campaign, writing original copy, or translating with cultural adaptation. This is where heart meets precision.
4. Final touches
We review everything together. I welcome your feedback and suggestions, and make sure the final version feels, looks and reads absolutely perfect.
